Poplar Wood for Ship Modelling

Poplar is a creamy white-colored wood with brown or gray sections or streaks through the grain.

Poplar is fairly easy to work, and takes nails, screws, and glue well. It works best with paint as a finish, but it can be successfully used to simulate finer woods, provided the proper steps are taken in the finishing process.

Use: frames, furniture, paper pulp, packaging.  

Use in naval model making: frame and planking painted.
