In the 1960s, Robert Newton, an American from Rhode Island, founded a shipyard in Hong Kong Bay. He manufactured sailing yachts and wooden yachts from famous architects' plans.
The Grand Banks Heritage series was first built in wood and then, from 1974, fiberglass in the new Singapore plant.
The whole upper part of the cabin can be easily removed to access the inside of the model.
